I consider it as the best work of Humayun Ahmed. Probably the best book on by any writer so far. I found myself at the time frame of liberation war while reading this one.
I literally cried after reading this book. A must read for each n every Bangladeshi. A very close view about the liberation war, the patriots. Just amazed with the brave move of the freedom fighter and astonished about the behavior of Pakistani Army's and the Razakar's of Bangladesh. View all 3 comments. A must be read book. A pride, and a history. Story of a legendary battle.
A winning over the stronger and more vicious ones. A battle which contains pain, sacrifice, heartache, hatred and patriotism. It's a book of love, the eternal and universal version of love, which never fades away. It is able to take you through, try it. Probably the best work of Humayun Ahmed. This book represents the brief history of the Liberation War of Bangladesh in such a amazing way that while reading the book you could feel the mental situation of the people who's life had gone horribly out of the track due to the devastating war.
To know our roots,it is a must read. A modern day classic. The most comprehensive novel about our liberation war and arguably the most neutral one. We need to make it a textbook. Learning about our liberation war is far more important than learning about village love triangles we have two textbooks on this topic or whatever happened in the third war of Panipath.
The best work so far by Humayun Ahmed I really liked this book so much An absolutely stupid memoir of liberation war accounts, if you ask me. A 'perfectly'inconsistent story-telling. Horrible narrative. Did not like it! View 2 comments. Why does he always have to make all the matters so humoured. This book definitely lacks depth and details.
I will gladly remember Humayan Ahmed for 3 things.. This is the number one among them. The 2nd is Himu.. Shuvro, shonkhonil karagar.. I remember their names, but these..

One of the best books on liberation war, and without doubt, a masterpiece of Humayan Ahmed. One of the best novel of Humayun Ahmed So, the author created some characters of his own, added their stories, and provided many references from non-fictional sources.
The problem is that, due to these citations some people started treating this book as a totally accurate account of our Liberation War. The author himself admitted making a few mistakes here and there in the cited events.
Anyway, what I liked about the book is that each So, the author created some characters of his own, added their stories, and provided many references from non-fictional sources. Anyway, what I liked about the book is that each of the characters represent certain categories of people during the war.
You have the freedom fighters, the rajakars, the intellectuals, the distraught, the loyal ones, the opportunists, etc. Oppsie :P One of Humayun Ahmed's very best A great book to know the perfect unbiased history of the birth of Bangladesh in through bloody liberation war against US backed Pakistani Army. The best book that I've ever read Pretty good book for a person who is starting to learn about liberation war but doesn't want to read a non-fiction book.
